Let’s Go – For Awareness, Hope, and Support" I called time on my swimming career as an 18-year-old in matric. Looking back, I sometimes feel like I never gave myself the chance to see how far I could have gone. My late dad played an intricate role in my swimming journey — he was my biggest supporter, motivator, and anchor. Sadly, he passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. It’s a brutal illness — often silent until it’s too late. With pancreatic cancer, prevention is difficult, but early detection offers the best chance of survival. Through our family’s experience, I’ve learned that while the diagnosis can make you feel helpless, there is still hope. There are support systems, like DL Link, that stand beside families dealing with cancer — offering strength, guidance, and community when it’s needed most. Raising awareness means giving others a fighting chance — and ensuring no family has to face this alone. Let’s spread the word, support those in the fight, and honour the ones we’ve lost. Let’s go. 💜
