You are donating to #75forMich
This campaign is for my baby sister Michelle, who passed away from cancer in 2015. One of my best friends; my safe place; my confidanté; the voice I still reach for in quiet moments. Recently, I committed to the 75 Hard challenge, and I knew I didn’t want to do it in vain. Because life is hard. Grief is hard. Watching someone you love fight for their life is hard. And continuing to move forward after they’re gone — well, that may be the hardest part of all. Alongside this I decided to pair this challenge with something that truly matters… For those who know me, you’ll know I’ve been growing my hair for some time now — even though I absolutely hate it — with the intention of donating it in Michelle’s memory. It’s is my quiet way of honouring her. Of turning something personal into something purposeful. I am fundraising for DL Link, to help create the DL Link Wig Room in the new centre, which we hope to name in memory of my sister, Michelle — a space inspired by women like her and built for women who are still in the fight. The DL Link Wig Room will be far more than a place to collect a wig. It will be a dedicated wig fitment and care space where women are treated with professionalism, sensitivity, and compassion. It will include wash basins where wigs can be washed and styled whenever needed, along with soothing head massages — moments of calm where women can feel relaxed, cared for, and truly held. A place where they can continue visiting a “salon” while going through treatment — rather than losing yet another part of themselves. Surrounded by the warmth, love, and compassion of the DL Link family and staff, women will be met not as patients, but as women deserving dignity, gentleness, and care. It felt right to connect it all. 75 days of discipline. 75 days of showing up. 75 days of choosing purpose over comfort. 75 days of turning resilience into impact. By donating today, you are helping build a space where women facing cancer can feel seen, supported, and restored — inside and out. This campaign is how I carry Michelle forward. With intention. With discipline. With love. If this story touched you, I invite you to donate or share. Every act of support matters more than you know. And if you’re walking your own hard road, you are not alone. Please donate now to support the DL Link Wig Room, and my own campaign in loving memory of Michelle. Your contribution, no matter the size, helps turn grief into hope, loss into love, and pain into purpose.
Your donation will be tax exempt and we will issue a Section 18A certificate upon receipt.
